There has been a lot of chatter about a possible Supergirl series recently, with many speculating which network it would air on. And now, we finally know that the series will be coming to CBS.
CBS was one the few networks to not have a superhero show in its roster, but now with Supergirl, it not only has ordered a pilot, but given a complete series commitment to the show.
The show will be produced by Berlanti Productions (Arrow and The Flash), with writers Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler (Chuck), who will executive produce along with Sarah Schechter.

Based on the characters from DC Comics, Supergirl will follow Kara Zor-El. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara escaped amid its destruction years ago. And since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
Based on the network alone, one might think crossovers between Supergirl and Arrow/Flash are unlikely. However, since the key people on all the three shows are common, it's not completely out of the question. There have been instances of shows crossing over, even though they aired on different networks, in the past.
