It was announced during San Diego Comic-Con that this year's big bad for Arrow will be none other than Ra's al Ghul. The speculation about who will be playing the character was wild, with fans naming Game of Thrones' Pedro Pascal as their favourite, and even Liam Neeson himself, who played the role in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Returns showing an interest in the role.
Now, thanks to Stephen Amell's facebook/twitter page, we finally know who landed the role...
Australian actor, Matt Nable (Riddick) will be playing Ra's al Ghul in Arrow Season 3.

"The leader of the League of Assassins and father of Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), Ra's is proud and unforgiving. A ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts and a shaper of history, Ra's carries the wisdom of the ages and protects some of its greatest secrets."
Matt Nable might not be the one of the big names many were hoping to land the role, but he's definitely got the exotic look to pull it off.
Interestingly, Matt Nable co-starred with Nolan Gerard Funk in Riddick. Nolan Gerard Funk is also set to join Arrow Season 3 as Felicity's ex-boyfriend.
The third season of Arrow is set to return on October 8th on The CW.
