Warner Bros. has revealed the cast of their upcoming DC supervillain teamup movie, Suicide Squad. The movie will include the following characters and actors:
Jared Leto had been longtime rumoured to be starring as The Joker in Warner Bros.' adaptation of Suicide Squad, and now we finally have confirmation. Similarly, Margot Robbie had been rumoured to be starring as Harley Quinn as well. The casting of Will Smith comes as a surprise, however, as most sources reported him to be cast as Boomerang instead of Deadshot.
Jesse Eisenberg is also rumoured to be reprising his role as Lex Luthor, as a sort of bridge between Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, however, his role is yet to be confirmed.
"The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one," WB President Greg Silverman said in a statement. "We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero."
Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad is set to hit the theatres on August 5, 2016.
